Shut Off Water To The Toilet
If you’re having trouble with a clogged toilet, the first step to take is to shut off the water supply. This will prevent any more water from entering the toilet, which can help minimize the mess you’ll have to clean up later. To shut off the water, locate the shut off valve near your toilet, usually behind the toilet or under the sink. Once you locate the valve, turn it clockwise to the off position. Now, you’re ready to start the toilet repair process.
Remove Any Water Remaining In The Toilet Bowl
After you have cleared the clog, remove any remaining water in the toilet bowl. To do this, you can use a plunger or a wet-dry vacuum. If you are using a plunger, make sure to pump it vigorously several times until all the water has been removed. If you are using a wet-dry vacuum, make sure to adjust the suction to a low setting so that it won’t damage your toilet bowl. Once the water has been completely removed, you can proceed with the next step.
